Catching Dreams
How do you catch a shadow?
It turns out that you’ve always had unmitigated access to the world of dreams. Even now, here, in broad daylight, your dreams follow you. You thought that the dawn would chase them away. You thought that they would disappear when you opened your eyes.
But they don’t go away. They are always there, even when you can’t see them. They live within you, and they will follow wherever you go.
This dream world that lives inside of you - it shapes your experience of life. All the forces of your mind: your beliefs, your prejudices, your skills and your knowledge, your habits and your routines, your memories, your preferences, your aspirations, and your deepest needs - all these forces, all of them, belong to the world of dreams.
And they are shadows. If you try to grab them, they will slip right through your fingers. And yet, they are nonetheless real. They are so real that you spend your entire life chasing them.
Dreams are the fabric of the psyche. They determine what is possible for you to think, feel, and do. The world of dreams is where your love flourishes and it is where your fears are buried. There lies the possibility of transformation. There, hidden in the dark, are the origins of every thought, every emotion, and every behavior. And it is there, in the twilight of the mind, that we will discover the keys to our success.
Dreams can be changed. You can wake up to the dream within the dream, and you can shape it. You can shape the forces that shape you. Step into the darkness of your own psyche and catch the dreams that darken the night. Catch them, and return them to dawn.
But then that begs the question.
